About The Ship Leopard Boutique Hotel

Harbour views from many of the rooms are the standout feature at The Ship Leopard Boutique Hotel, an adults-only property on The Hard in Portsmouth. The setting puts guests right by the harbour and its transport links, within easy reach of the city's attractions, and the free on-site parking is a genuine bonus in a spot this central.

Rooms are en-suite and finished to a comfortable, clean standard, with drinks available in room and a lift serving the building. Breakfast is generous and well-regarded, served each morning before guests head out to explore, and there's a bar on-site for the evening. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which makes a difference when settling into an unfamiliar city.

Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists, with fishing and watersports nearby along with a golf course, plus pubs, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. One point worth flagging: the proximity to the bus station means some rooms can pick up street noise, so light sleepers may want to request a quieter room when booking.

We had a compact double which is fine for a one night stop without lots of luggage, but small for longer stay. Larger rooms are available. But the location is brilliant - next to entrance to Historic Dockland area, directly opposite the Ferry Port and bus station. Great views of HMS Warrior and the Spinnaker tower. Good traditional breakfast in bright spacious entrance area. Friendly staff. Would stay again.

A fabulous little hotel very near the Harbour station in Portsmouth. Easy walk into Gunwharf Quay. Some parking available within the boundary. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice room with sight of HMS Warrior. Flat screen tv hidden in the mirror wardrobe. Kettle with tea and coffee making facilities, also Hairdryer. Lovely big bath towels and good hand towels. Wardrobe space to hang clothes along with some shelves. Nice breakfast was included with our booking. I enjoyed a full English breakfast with decafe soya coffee.

Room was large as was the bathroom with a view to the harbour area, but also to the bus/train station area too, so a bit noisy. The room was clean enough, but looking pretty tired and worn - it could really need an update/upgrade to justify it's "boutique hotel" claim. Breakfast was decent and service pretty quick. The receptionist on check-in was friendly and helpful. There is convenient free private parking at the rear of the hotel - make sure you head for "Portsea Men's Shed" in Google Maps to find this because the road is one-way and not directly accessible from the front of the hotel.

Lovely little boutique hotel a short distance from Gunwharf Quays and directly across the road from the railway station. The rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. The only downside is a little noise from the road and railway but it didn't disturb our sleep. We would definitely come back again
