What visitors say
You get what you pay for, not a bad site but seems slightly neglected. This is cheaper than most, and the location is spot on for being close to Bude’s attractions. Toilets and showers are converted sheds, do the trick, dish washing area is outside with no cover. Grass was overgrown which wasn’t ideal for camping. All bins were heavily loaded and had rats running around the bin area (my partner met 3 of them inside when opening the lid, to her surprise 😂)

The excellent grounds, approach, flora, pitches and proximity to Bude (25 min walk) gave us a very pleasant stay. Only downside are the facilities, a little aged, accepted, but not really cleaned often enough. It only takes a few poor campers to make using them a bit daunting. Would be nice to think this aspect is improved

A very dirty disappointing site, £30 a night we paid for, facilities which hadnt been cleaned for weeks, ivy was growing through shower mats and round toilets, skid marks and dirty handbasins , pot washing area bird dirt all over and nails sticking out. On the pretty drive in the plants were tended to daily, but the cleanliness and hygiene was non existent, and when challenged the Manager and his partner were not interested, infact his partner didn't think they were too bad! Not a place I would visit or recommend to anyone. I would not like to have had a family with me as the bins were full and there were rats. Unable to attach photos to see how bad it was, please take my word for it. A very unhygienic camp site, better to go rough camping than stay here and waste your money

The campsite is very basic for the price. Seems like they put a lot of effort into the Aesthetic rather than the usability of the campsite. The tent pitches were very close together. Just seems like they tried to ram as many pitches into the field as possible. The park for the kids was nice but when I went down there at midday the farmer was having a barrel fire next to the park and all the smoke was blowing straight onto the kids in the park. The conditions of the toilets were pretty poor. The positive was that it's a 5-minute drive from Bude and black rock beach. Just seems like the campsite was their least Concern. I will be looking for a family-run campsite next time
