Blackrock Barn is a converted barn on a working farm between Hay-on-Wye and the Black Mountains. The whole property is yours alone, arranged on one level: a combined living and dining space leads into a kitchen with electric oven and hob, and there is a bedroom with a kingsize bed and a shower room with walk-in shower. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are all included, and there is parking for two cars on site. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge.
The location suits walkers and readers alike. Hay-on-Wye, famous for its May literary festival and independent bookshops, is close by; Hay Castle and the market town itself make good half-day visits. More seriously ambitious walks head out to Hay Bluff and the Black Mountains from the door. Hereford's shops and restaurants are about 20 miles away. A selection of country pubs within a mile means dinner and a drink are nearby without the drive. The barn overlooks farmland with views toward the Black Mountain.
