Hayloft Barn
Powys
This barn conversion retains the character of its agricultural past, with exposed beams throughout and a reading loft tucked into the upper space. The main living area is on the first floor, combining the kitchen, dining and sitting zones in one open plan. Two bedrooms—one double, one with twin singles—share a bathroom with bath and shower. The property sits within its own farm setting on the Wales-England border, overlooking the surrounding land with views toward the national park beyond.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher and washing machine. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. Parking for two cars is on site, and there is an electric car charging point. One pet is welcome at no extra cost. The barn works for four people; note that smoking is not permitted.
Hay-on-Wye lies within easy reach, famous for its bookshops and annual literary festival. Walking trails lead onto Hay Bluff and the Black Mountains, while Offa's Dyke Path runs through the farm itself. The River Wye is nearby for swimming, kayaking and fishing. Hereford is roughly 20 miles south. Local pubs and country restaurants are scattered through the surrounding area.
