Cowlas

Rural Powys rises around Cowlas, a working countryside where sheep graze and the Snowdonia peaks show themselves 6.5 miles south. The village of Machynlleth, with its market, independent shops and cafés, sits four miles away. The cottage occupies its own grounds on the outskirts—space enough for a car park, a patio, and the private hot tub that comes ready for use.

Inside, the ground floor holds a double bedroom and an open-plan living area with a kitchen at one end, a woodburner at the other, and a shower room between them. A loft twin bedroom sits upstairs, though the headroom is low. The essentials are covered: heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and firewood all included, plus wifi. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher, microwave and fridge, so you can cook or keep things simple. Outside, the veranda has seating and ambient lighting; there's room for a barbecue.

One dog or cat can come (kept on a lead, as this is sheep country), and the property draws its water from a well. There is no smoking indoors. Children are not accommodated here.
