Bwthyn Llys (Machynlleth Old Court House)
Powys
View on Google MapsThis Grade II listed cottage dates back centuries, its low doorways and exposed beams a reminder of its past as part of Machynlleth's old court house. The building has been restored to work as a holiday home while keeping its character intact. Two bedrooms—one double, one single—and a bathroom sit upstairs. Downstairs, a living room with wooden floors and stone chimney faces a small kitchen equipped for self-catering, opening onto an enclosed garden with seating.
The cottage sits in the centre of Machynlleth, within easy reach of the town's Wednesday market, independent shops, cafés and pubs. The Owain Glyndŵr Centre on the high street tells the story of Wales's medieval prince. MOMA and the Tabernacle arts venue are a short walk away, and the leisure centre is nearby. The property has wifi, heating and all bedding and towels provided. One small dog can stay free. The town has good bus and train connections, and the coast is within reach for a day out.
