Families and larger groups looking for somewhere to gather will find Edderton Hall suited to the task. This 12-bedroom country house in Montgomeryshire sleeps up to 25 and comes as an exclusive rental—the whole place is yours. The scale allows for real separation: children can occupy the playroom and games room (complete with pool table and dartboard) while adults retreat to one of three distinct living spaces, each with a woodburner and television.
Across three floors, the bedrooms range from singles and bunks through to doubles and a kingsize with a Jacuzzi bath. Eleven bathrooms mean queues are avoidable. The kitchen is built around a range cooker and opens to a dining area; a second dining table sits in the formal room beyond. Essentials like bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are included. One dog stays free.
Outside, a hot tub in the summerhouse accommodates eight people, and the front garden has a firepit, seating and a barbecue. There is parking for ten cars. The setting commands views across the Severn Valley. No smoking throughout the house.

Fabulous location, large number of rooms, an ex-hotel. The views are fabulous, the garden is huge. The kitchen is filled with equipment and crockery, sadly let down by damaged and broken equipment. The public rooms are big and can accommodate large parties but again the decor and furniture is tired. Some of the bedrooms are big and well fitted, the others are small and basic, comfortable but quirky and missing the quality finish. If you're looking for a large place to party and somewhere to sleep then this will do but the damaged fitting and aging decor are disappointing. It is worth pointing out that the hall shares the site with two (soon to be three) other rental properties which may affect your freedom to use the gardens.

A beautiful house full of period features and charm set in a lovely landscape. Very capable of holding large groups of family or friends and we'll worth staying at. Only downside is that the mattresses on the beds we had were terrible and very uncomfortable.

First of all - the positive... What a beautiful building! A real character filled place! Sadly, the amount of short fallings by the owners have left us (a group of 12 who holiday away for a friend's Christmas every year) unwilling to ever return. Firstly, we were asked to contact the owners 2 days before arrival which we did.. to no avail. No answer, no call back, nothing. Unfortunately this theme carried on throughout our stay. The taps in room 3 (top floor) leak onto the tiled floor, making us nearly fall on multiple occasions - no contact back from owners. Almost immediately, someone got stuck in a bedroom, we couldn't open the door - paranormal trickery or dodgy woodwork? You decide. No contact back from owners. The ceiling in room 7 was leaking into the middle of the room - a room being used by a pregnant woman and all! Combine this with the ladybug infestation in the room and you have a hell of a combination! Trip over wet towels and get laughed at by ladybirds... Again, no response from owners. Wonderful log burner in the main living room but barely enough logs for one evening! The televisions in the property are appalling, unless you want to to watch the shopping channels... Luckily, we bought our own firestick to watch television; even that wasn't straight forward. You're lucky if the WiFi will load Teletext, let alone Netflix. To cap it off, someone had entered the rear garden/courtyard area of the property at some point - we only knew because the gate had been left open. Luckily we had no children that could of wandered out into what seemed to be a car park! Beautiful house, everything else was shocking. We were not expecting a house of this age and size to not have it's quirks but the lack of communication from the owners is unacceptable.
