The Stables

Photo: The Stables Mid Wales

Built as a working stable and now entirely reimagined, The Stables is a ground-floor conversion that treats contemporary comfort seriously. Two bedrooms, each with its own en-suite shower room and patio doors opening onto the garden, sleep four people. One room has a kingsize bed, the other two singles. The open-plan living space contains a full kitchen with electric cooking, a dining area and a sitting room with Freeview Smart TV, all flowing into each other without internal walls.

The hot tub sits in the enclosed grounds, where there is also a terrace with seating and views across the Powys countryside. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; pets stay free. The property is in Knighton, a market town on the Wales-England border surrounded by rural landscape and walking routes. Smoking is not permitted inside. One vehicle can be parked on site; electric vehicle charging is available at a supermarket a couple of miles away.

Just returned from a long weekend at the stables! What a wonderful place! The house is just as beautiful as the pictures, and views are just amazing! Couldn’t recommend enough, the local village Knighton is just a short drive away, which was very helpful beautiful area and a very wonderful house! The hot tub and games room was brilliant for all 16 of us that came to stay.

Just returned from a very sunny weekend here for my sisters hen do! There was 15 of us in total, across the main house and annexe which was perfect. The house is even more amazing in person, the hot tub and games room are great extras and everyone had the best time! The views and location are stunning! Really helpful hosts too, nothing was too much trouble, we arranged a balloon arch with Louise which was ready for our arrival along with a lovely hamper of local treats! We would highly recommend!

Just returned from celebrating my wife and her twin sisters birthday party, we opted to get the lodge decorated by the owner Louise for the birthday celebrations and it was amazing, I highly recommended this saves you a lot of time and trouble. What a beautiful lodge and cottage this is. Warm and clean on arrival and a beautiful welcome hamper which was a treat after a long drive. The lemon cake was delicious. There where thirteen of us altogether. The bedrooms are large and airy giving you plenty of space. Bathrooms and showers are clean and modern with a huge bath. The kitchen is very well catered for with everything you need for a full cooking service with a big group. The living area is bigger than expected but this was brilliant as we all had plenty of space to chill out of a evening and enjoy our drinks whilst dancing the night away. The area outside the lodge is lovely too with plenty of grass for the kids too play on if needed. The hot tub was lovely after a long day out to chill and enjoy a nice cold whiskey whilst watching the horses play in the next field. The games room was a lovely way to spend the evenings playing tournaments of pool, air hockey, darts and table football. Also had a retro pacman machine which the kids loved. We will definitely return when we are in the area, hopefully in summer so we can enjoy the long summer nights and get the BBQ going. Whilst we where staying here the local village flooded and half of our family got stranded. Louise who owns the property was brilliant offering help and even letting us extend our stay for a night so we could retrieve the cars the next day. We couldn't of asked for anything more. The help we recieved from everyone in the community went above and beyond. Opening the community centre and supplying hot food and drinks. Local people helped us rescue our cars too. This really is a beautiful part of the world with the most amazing people. If you need transport whilst you are here I highly recommend Owens Motors for large groups. Make sure you book in advance. Dai was a lovely guy taking us to dinner one night. The best part about these guys though was the help we received from them during the floods, the owner rescued half our family putting himself and his vehicle at risk. To get our family home and safe. Thankyou for a memorable and amazing stay.

We have just got back from a weekends stay for my sisters Hen Party. We were a party of 12 and I can honestly say from the communication, to the welcome pack, to the pre heated house before we arrived, the views, the stunning house, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, fantastic hot tub, games room... the list goes on. What a fantastic stay we all had. Thank you Louise I would highly recommend and the balloon arch was a great addition.
