Wrens Nest is a detached cottage designed with accessibility in mind, situated within 8 acres of countryside near Madogs. Everything is on the ground floor: a combined living and dining space with TV and Freesat, a kitchen with gas cooker and full appliances, two bedrooms (one double, one single), and a wet room with shower and bath. The essentials—electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi—are included; a hoist is available on request for an additional charge.
The grounds offer multiple walking routes, including a woodland trail that winds through mixed trees, crosses bridges and skirts a pond, where bluebells, primroses and wild roses grow. A shared games room has pool and table tennis. The property has its own parking and a sitting-out area. One pet stays free. The location puts you within reach of Powys Castle, Chirk Castle, the Welshpool to Llanfair Steam Railway, and lakes at Vyrnwy and Bala. No smoking inside.

We stayed in Wren's Nest, 3 adults in 2 bedrooms. The cottage is well maintained and has everything that you could require for a short break, 2 bedrooms, kitchen area, lounge area and bathroom/wet room. Furnishings, decor & facilities are a little dated but fully functional. The only 'negative' is room sizes, everything is quite cosy in size but that would really only impact if you were in the property 24/7. The other 2 cottages on site are much, much more roomy. There is a small games room, pool table, some gym gear and ample games to occupy a family. A few outdoor kid's slides etc.. Pet friendly. The owners are very obliging and go out of their way to make your stay very straight forward & comfortable, nothing is too much trouble. Very welcoming. The position of the properties is quite breathtaking, lots and lots of varied birds visit constantly and use the many well stocked feeders. Roads not brilliant but you have to take that as granted in the knowledge of where you are. I would recommend this site to anyone looking for good walking, hiking, outdoor activities or just simple relaxation time. Very, very peaceful. Photos from our visit were taken in an exceptionally snowy few days but that was forecast so we had taken plenty of supplies. Overall, excellent value for money and well worth consideration.

Stayed here for two times, lovely place with views, walks and plenty of opportunities to explore mid Wales round. Some highlights within 1hr drive: lake Vyrnwy, Elan Valley, Llanidloes village, Pontcysyllte aqueduct, Montgomery and Powis castles, Aberdyfi coastal village - all worth a day for a visit
