The Mill House

The Mill House suits families and groups of up to five looking for a base in the heart of mid-Wales. The three bedrooms—a kingsize, a double and a single—give flexibility for different group compositions, and there's one bathroom with a walk-in shower. Downstairs has a living room with a 32-inch Freeview TV, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and washing machine, so you can cook properly or eat out at the pubs and restaurants within walking distance.

This 1830s property has local history: the dining area once housed a butcher's shop when the building was part of Talgarth Mill. The town centre location puts Brecon nine miles away—home to the Royal Welsh Museum and cathedral—and Hay-on-Wye's bookshops and Hay Festival are eight miles south. For walkers and cyclists, Pen y Fan and countless other routes start from the door. Cardiff and Swansea are roughly an hour's drive. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included. Smoking is not permitted. On-road parking is available, with check-in from 15:00 and departure by 10:00.
