Newtown and the surrounding Powys countryside offer quiet escapes from busier regions, with market towns and walking routes within reach. Oak View sits apart from neighbours on its own grounds, a converted barn where the design opens completely to the landscape—floor-to-ceiling glass panels, bi-fold doors and a bedroom window framing the view mean you can wake to the countryside without leaving bed, or close the remote blinds for privacy. Everything is on one level, accessible from the entrance without steps.
The single bedroom has a kingsize bed and an in-room roll-top bath beside a separate shower cubicle. The open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining and lounge; the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and the lounge has a 42-inch smart TV. Outside, a private hot tub overlooks the grounds, there's garden seating and a barbecue, and a second outdoor area is enclosed for dogs. Parking takes two cars. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all included; tea, coffee and homemade Welsh cakes come with arrival. One dog stays free. The property is non-smoking.
An unfenced lake lies 500 yards away in the grounds; this matters if you're visiting with young children or dogs that roam unsupervised.

Just returned from a wonderful week in Oakview. The cottage was superb, with the most amazing views. Accommodation was very clean and well equipped. Glorious sunshine all week meant we got to see the most beautiful sunsets from the sofa, thanks to the fully glass fronted rooms. Out of Town Beauty on site was a real bonus, facial highly recommended.

Lovely cabin, well equipped with lovely hosts who could not have been more helpful. Central so great for exploring! Unfortunately, we were there during the heatwave! The cabin is south west facing with a glass wall so it was impossibly hot from lunchtime until evening! Curtains and blinds closed and fans made no difference, so we had to stay out and eat out much more than we planned… Our puppy had a touch of heat sickness and we could not cool them down, so we had to head home a night early The front of the cabin became so hot that the patio doors and blinds malfunctioned The lovely owners are aware that changes need to be made and are planning to get air-conditioning units for the properties. We still managed a nice holiday and it is a lovely place…spoiled for us by the heatwave unfortunately

We've just come back from a delightful stay at The Hideway. It's the ideal place for a chilled holiday in the rolling fields of Mid Wales. We spent a week here and wish we could have spent more. Hot Tub in the evening was a real treat! It is only a few minutes drive from the Town, which has a lovely park which is great for dogs and we also travelled to the coast, which is just over an hour away. We would certainly stay again at this or one of the other properties. Highly recommended.

Staying at the Cwtch was even more lovely than we expected. The attention to detail was just wonderful including a lovely bottle of bubbly and some flowers on arrival. The views from every corner window were incredible, the bed was beautifully comfortable and every small detail had been thought of - even fluffy dressing gowns. The only downside was we had to leave. If you need somewhere to get away from the world and be surrounded by countryside - this is the place for you!
