Unique Welsh Stays - The Cwtch

Photo: Unique Welsh Stays

The Cwtch arrives fully prepared for arrival. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included, along with initial logs for the wood burner and a welcome pack. The kitchen is fitted with an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge, making it straightforward to cook or simply prepare meals. A utility room with washing machine and freezer sits alongside the main living space.

The single-storey layout keeps everything on the ground floor. A kingsize bed occupies the bedroom, which has its own ensuite shower room and a double-ended bath. The wood burner serves both bedroom and the open-plan living area, where you'll find a television, DVD and CD player. A patio with garden furniture and barbecue opens onto the grounds, where the hot tub sits on the bedroom veranda. One dog is welcome here; they must remain on a lead as the property borders sheep country. Private parking is available for two cars. Smoking is not permitted.

Newtown is two miles away, with pubs, restaurants and shops within reach. The town itself holds markets, galleries, museums and a theatre. Spa and beauty treatments can be arranged separately if wanted.

Just returned from a wonderful week in Oakview. The cottage was superb, with the most amazing views. Accommodation was very clean and well equipped. Glorious sunshine all week meant we got to see the most beautiful sunsets from the sofa, thanks to the fully glass fronted rooms. Out of Town Beauty on site was a real bonus, facial highly recommended.

Lovely cabin, well equipped with lovely hosts who could not have been more helpful. Central so great for exploring! Unfortunately, we were there during the heatwave! The cabin is south west facing with a glass wall so it was impossibly hot from lunchtime until evening! Curtains and blinds closed and fans made no difference, so we had to stay out and eat out much more than we planned… Our puppy had a touch of heat sickness and we could not cool them down, so we had to head home a night early The front of the cabin became so hot that the patio doors and blinds malfunctioned The lovely owners are aware that changes need to be made and are planning to get air-conditioning units for the properties. We still managed a nice holiday and it is a lovely place…spoiled for us by the heatwave unfortunately

We've just come back from a delightful stay at The Hideway. It's the ideal place for a chilled holiday in the rolling fields of Mid Wales. We spent a week here and wish we could have spent more. Hot Tub in the evening was a real treat! It is only a few minutes drive from the Town, which has a lovely park which is great for dogs and we also travelled to the coast, which is just over an hour away. We would certainly stay again at this or one of the other properties. Highly recommended.

Staying at the Cwtch was even more lovely than we expected. The attention to detail was just wonderful including a lovely bottle of bubbly and some flowers on arrival. The views from every corner window were incredible, the bed was beautifully comfortable and every small detail had been thought of - even fluffy dressing gowns. The only downside was we had to leave. If you need somewhere to get away from the world and be surrounded by countryside - this is the place for you!
