Beacon Fell View

Really disappointed with our stay at Beacon Fell View. This trip was meant to be a special one as it was for our twins' 10th birthday, and unfortunately the experience fell well below expectations. We had actually considered cancelling after reading reviews beforehand, but we contacted the site and were reassured everything was great. We were even told AJ and the team would help make our twins' birthday special and that we could bring a cake and candles along. The problems started from arrival. Reception couldn't find our booking or work out which pitch we were on despite us booking around 4–6 weeks in advance. We were even asked if we'd only booked the day before arriving. The hardstanding touring pitch itself was extremely uneven and steep. The surface didn't seem suitable at all for a hardstanding pitch and actually resulted in damage to one of our alloy wheels while manoeuvring. The pitch was so uneven that our daughter also fell coming out of our awning. There were extremely high curbs between pitches, the ground sloped down towards the electric hook-up point, and to top it off we arrived to dog poo on our pitch — we don't even own a dog. The site itself also had a number of issues. The children's park was closed and condemned, yet children were still playing on it anyway. The terrace area was covered in cigarette ends and bins were overflowing from the previous day. The touring dishwashing sinks were filthy and the crazy golf course was in a poor state of repair despite still being open for use. Another frustration was the arcade situation. The bar was using the arcade change machine for bingo, meaning there was no change available for children wanting to use the arcade. The biggest disappointment though was the entertainment side. One of the reasons we continued with the booking after wanting to cancel was because we were reassured about AJ and the entertainment team. We specifically booked because our autistic daughter benefits from entertainment and activities throughout the day. We arrived with a birthday cake and candles expecting what had been described to us, only to discover AJ had left and there was no communication about this. Trying to explain that to our autistic daughter was upsetting and distressing, especially on what should have been a special birthday celebration. We understand that things can go wrong, but this felt like issue after issue throughout the stay. Sadly, this wasn't the experience we were promised and definitely wasn't the birthday weekend we had hoped to give our twins.

Stayed in motorhome, had the potential to be a lovely site as has lots of amenities. However the toilet facilities are very poor, not cleaned, no toilet rolls or soap. Arrived and out pitch had been given to someone else, no offer to help. Too many caravans /motorhome squeezed together. The little shop was lovely, very friendly Make sure you take cash for the arcades, no facilities to get cash on site

I visited to look at the options for purchase and the place was so amazing that I signed and sealed without hesitation. Susie, who showed me round the site, was the perfect ambassador: friendly, professional, patient and completely pressure free. In fact, the whole of the staff was so welcoming. There's a huge array of options for different budgets, but all share one common feature... The most astounding views... You really do need to visit to understand the picturesque beauty and tranquility. Facilities were lovely but nevertheless improvements and upgrades were being made

Weve stayed at this site over many years, it was always a very popular site, always full with tourer’s. I’m not sure what the owners plans are but it looks like they are winding down the touring part of the site. The pitches are over grown and dirty, the playground is closed and now looks like the one in Chernobyl. The Elson point disgusting. On our arrival a lot of electric hook up points weren’t working. I was wondering why they just don’t close the touring pitches but thinking about it there are always gullible people willing to pay money. If you’re reading this and already booked then you’ve been warned, if you’re researching for a future booking seriously think about it.
