About Derby Arms
Avenham Park and the Harris Museum are both within reach of Derby Arms, making this a sound base for exploring Preston without worrying about where to leave the car, as free on-site parking is provided. The pub setting on Chipping Road puts guests close to the city's sights while still offering a relaxed, traditional feel once back at the inn.
There are six rooms, kept comfortable and clean, with attention paid to a good night's sleep. The on-site restaurant and bar are a strong point, with a kitchen known for its cooking, including a well-regarded Sunday roast, seafood dishes, and gluten-free options for those who need them. Breakfast is served on-site, and free WiFi is available throughout. A garden offers a spot to sit outside, while meeting rooms, luggage storage, and porter services add practical touches for a range of visitors.
Staff are attentive and the atmosphere is generally described as welcoming, which suits both overnight stopovers and longer stays in the city. Pets are welcome, so travelling with an animal needn't rule this out. With Preston's parks and museums close by and a kitchen worth returning for, Derby Arms works well as a straightforward, comfortable stop in Lancashire.

What guests say
Amazing from start to finish. The room was absolutely huge, with a bath tub and large shower, very clean. I called because it appeared no dog friendly rooms were available just to double check and they just needed to update their website, so please note all rooms are dog friendly. Everyone was super welcoming. Food was also really great, we ate quite late in the evening so a lot of the specials we wanted had gone but understood, so just something to note. There was a bit of a mix up with my main, slight confusion on the specials board, but they were very quick to understand and replace the meal which was very appreciated. I'd love to come back again. Thanks for a great stay.

Absolutely fabulous overnight break at this gem of a pub in beautiful Lancashire. The staff are super helpful, the rooms are really comfortable [ best night's sleep in ages ! ] and, despite England losing the semi we had the BEST night there. Couldn't recommend it highly enough and order the seafood platter if you can manage to fit it all in. I couldn't . Such a generous serving. Beautifully quiet place to stay . All in all, wonderful. Thank you .

Comfortable room. Exceptionally friendly and pleasant staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was absolutely delicious and we dined here 3 nights in a row. The fish is really good. Dining staff were friendly and efficient. Scenery is magnificent: setting is lovely and quiet apart from the noisy birds!!
