What visitors say
Booked here (near the duck at woolsthorpe) as we were attending a large event nearby and we like camping, think it was around £80 for three nights with electric hook up. We were sent a key code to access the gate and toilet block. Baring in mind it was a bank holiday weekend, very hot and lots of things happening in the area we found the pitch and got sorted. It's quite a confined area but enough room to get a car through between set ups. However, the Friday night of a bank holiday when the sun is shining isn't for the faint hearted. The majority of campers were in big groups , congregating together to eat and drink with music way past the quiet time , most had more than one car on their pitch. I think there are around 30 pitches, which when you think at least two people will be sharing and some had a few kids that's a lot of bodies, and when I say the facilities are small... Two showers and two toilets in the ladies block in an area that was probably 3 meters square isn't nearly enough. The men's has ONE toilet cubicle and we all know when you're camping all that cheap bbq sausage has to be ready to explode out of you at some point... If it wasn't some people's first day on earth it was definitely their first time camping, we escaped to the pub to eat which was a welcome sight with a really nice outside area by the canal. I'd be furious if I booked a hard standing pitch as it was literally a blocked off bit of car park and when I say wheel spin it was pretty much all we heard all evening. It's genuinely a shame it doesn't seem to be monitored in any way because the location and the onsite pub are a real gem. I'd have paid a lot more per night if the facilities were bigger.

I would avoid this campsite.Arrived here Thursday afternoon very difficult to find your pitch as half the pitch numbers are missing. Toilets are dirty and only cleaned once in a blue moon. toilet roll is not replenished nor is the hand soap. Down the far end of the field there was a lot of rubbish including a black bin bag full of rubbish witch a fox had ripped open. Obviously no one from the campsite even bothers to come down and check it. you ring the number provided and the woman on the other end of the phone hasn't got a clue what your on about. It's Like ringing some sort of call center in India. Stayed at much better campsites for a fraction of the price with clean toilets with (TOILET Roll) and clean shower blocks cleaned every day.DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE.

Arrived Thursday afternoon, there wasn't any toilet roll in either of the ladies toilets... I sent a text message to the 'duty manager' (number that was sent on the email prior to arrival) No response to the text! The toilet/shower block wasn't cleaned once since arriving, and no toilet roll was put into the toilets at any point!! I also sent another text Saturday night saying again there was no toilet roll in the ladies!! The toilet/shower block gets flooded when people have a shower and there are no drains to help get the water out!! Very expensive stay for dirty toilets and showers and no toilet roll!! Half the pitch numbers aren't visible or even there so a guessing game at where your pitch is! Stayed at better campsites for less money that had brilliant facilities!!

We were very disappointed with the condition of the toilet facilities at this campsite. Both the male and female toilets were extremely dirty, unhygienic, and effectively unusable, appearing not to have been cleaned for quite some time. We raised the issue multiple times by email and phone, and were assured the toilets would be cleaned that evening. Unfortunately, this never happened and the facilities remained in the same unacceptable state all weekend.
