About Janson Fishery Caravan and Camping
Fancy catching some Nottinghamshire coarse fishing? Bring your rod to Janson Fishery Caravan and Camping in Elton near Nottingham for angling days aplenty, in peaceful and green surroundings within the Vale of Belvoir National Landscape.
This is an excellent spot for anglers, with five lakes on site—three match and two pleasure. Bag your day ticket to cast off in one of the pleasure lakes including Tomo's Lake, with carp into double figures as well as barbel, tench, roach, rudd and golden orfe all to land, and Donut Pool, a mixed lake with ide, barbel and again carp up to double figures. Regular match days run at least twice a week (booking essential), and the well-stocked tackle shop has all the kit and bait you'll need.
The lakeside café is open Tuesday to Sunday for sandwiches, breakfasts and hot drinks; the adjacent bar opens Fridays (6pm-10.30pm) and Saturdays (11am-10.30pm) for refreshments, hosting a quiz or bingo night most Saturdays. At other times, pick up self-catering supplies close by in Bingham—barbecues are allowed on site. Facilities include toilets, showers and chemical disposal.

What visitors say
Absolutely fantastic venue, especially if you enjoy fishing. We stayed lakeside on a fully serviced pitch. Nice big pitch. Clean toilets and showers, basic Only 1 sink outside for washing up, not under cover. Fantastic tackle shop with fresh bait on site. The cafe cooks fresh food but I didnt go in. Plenty of lakes to choose from on if your in a pod or camping you will have your own peg. Fantastic lake and well stocked. Lovely owners and very friendly... I will return Nothing

Myself and my husband booked to stay over the bank holiday weekend in one of the pods. We arrived at the stated check-in time to be told it wasn’t ready yet and ended up waiting an extra 50 minutes with no apology given. When we finally got into the pod, it was dirty and smelt like damp. The bed had stains on the pillows and duvet, the shower had mould all around the seal and the kitchen looked as though it hadn’t even been cleaned. Upon complaining about the state of the pod and asking to be moved, we were told in a very rude and abrupt manor that there was nothing they could do as all the others were booked so the best they could offer was to clean it again for us. So this meant another 30 minutes of waiting and still no apology. Once we got back in again for a second time it was acceptable but no where near clean enough. The shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold and the water pressure was awful. On two out of the three nights we were there, we were disturbed by noisy neighbours who were playing loud music until 1am and the owners didn’t seem to care enough to tell them to be quiet, so the rule about no noise past 11pm is a load of rubbish. The site is also next to a main road so this added to the noise at night so both myself and husband didn’t sleep very well at all. We travelled down from Mansfield for what we thought would be a very nice relaxing bank holiday weekend but ended up being very disappointed and had absolutely no compensation from the owners when we shared our complaints before leaving. We would not recommend this place to anyone else and certainly won’t be staying again.
