What visitors say
Just returned today from a weekend there. Great place to stay. Location is fantastic. Staff very friendly (especially Mac) great welcome from him. Pitches are just grass in fields but very well kept and surface very flat. Toilets and showers clean but could do with updating. Clubhouse for the rowing club onsite very good, great choice of drinks at very reasonable prices. Shame no electric hookup but wouldn’t stop us from returning.

The RRC has a thoroughly excellent campsite. Facilities - toilets, washing up, water etc - all fine, clearly not The Ritz, but then it's not London and it's a campsite! :-p Good comms, decent price (approve of the leave-it-clean-and-tidy deposit system), nice pitch layout/spacing and it all works well with a friendly warden on site for queries etc. Add to those basics the location and what's not to love about the place? A few minutes walk into bustle of the historic town or down the river to the pub and food or out into the countryside or down to the natural beach on the Wye to launch the paddleboard etc and then upstream or down is your choice. It's a great place, good value and we WILL be coming back here! Probably quite a lot!!

Can't speak highly enough of Ross Rowing Club campsite. Mac the manager made the whole stay — on hand whenever we needed anything, genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and he made sure we felt welcome at the burger evening they'd put on. That kind of warmth makes all the difference. The site itself was lovely too — plenty of space, and even when full I'd imagine it stays well spaced out. Toilets were decent, showers were fine, and the location right on the river is beautiful. Simple, well-run, and looked after properly. We'll definitely be back. Thanks Mac for looking after us.

We only booked parking and launching on this occasion, the site is clean and the facilities good. Very convenient to park and have space to inflate paddle boards, the access to the water is fantastic and made it all very easy. It would be really helpful if a what3words location was added as Apple Maps thinks the rowing club is some distance from where it actually is, some clearer signage to know where to park and launch would be ideal but we managed just fine. I can highly recommend parking and launching from here and made for a very pleasant day. Thanks
