What visitors say
Don't be put off by the approach through the industrial estate. I was a little worried when we first arrived, but once you reach the site it's a completely different story. The park is very well maintained. We received a warm and friendly welcome on arrival, the pitches are well spaced out, and the shower and toilet block is very clean. The showers are a good temperature and nice and powerful, although the timer cuts out a little sooner than I'd like. That's only a minor issue, though. The drive-through motorhome service point is particularly useful, with a drive-over grey waste drain and a clean black waste disposal point. Finding soap provided next to the black waste point was a rare but very welcome touch. The location is excellent too. There's a Morrisons supermarket around a five-minute walk away, while Ross-on-Wye town centre is another five minutes beyond that, with a great selection of lovely independent bars, cafés and restaurants. My only real gripe is the number of irresponsible dog owners. I have no problem with dogs and appreciate that the site is dog friendly, but "dog friendly" shouldn't mean everyone else has to put up with excessive barking because some owners can't be bothered to train or control their dogs properly. It also seems to go largely unchecked by some owners. It's unfair on other guests who have come away for some peace and quiet. Aside from that, it's a well-run, clean site in a great location, and I'd happily stay again.I think this strikes a good balance. It praises the campsite where it's deserved, while making it clear that your criticism is aimed at inconsiderate guests rather than the site itself.

We arrived at this campsite as a family and honestly, I have never experienced such an unwelcoming attitude from people running a campsite. From the moment we arrived, the man who greeted us had an absolutely awful attitude. There was no friendly welcome, no attempt to make us feel comfortable and certainly no impression that they were pleased to have us there. His attitude was so obvious that within minutes we were questioning why we should even stay. The couple who run/work at the site made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than paying guests. The whole atmosphere was uncomfortable, and it was very clear that they seemed far more interested in their regular customers than welcoming new people. As we arrived, everyone was looking and staring, which only made the situation even more uncomfortable. Instead of feeling welcomed as a family arriving for a holiday, we felt like we were intruding on some sort of private club. We hadn’t even been there five minutes before we decided enough was enough and left. We didn’t even bother setting up because the attitude we received was that bad. I honestly cannot understand how anyone expects new customers to return when they are treated like this from the second they arrive. Being a regular customer shouldn’t mean you get treated well while everyone else is made to feel unwelcome. The campsite itself may well be perfectly nice, but we’ll never know because the behaviour and attitude of the people running it completely ruined our experience before we’d even had the chance to stay. We left after less than five minutes and would absolutely not return. After camping for 7 years this is worst experience we have had!

Caravan park was nice and flat, easy to get around, and the toilets were clean. It felt more suited to adults than families, but it was a short walk into town which was handy. Only downside is the pitches are very close together, so not much space or privacy. Nice walk for the pup next to the river.

Fantastic stay here and we only found the site by chance. We picked up a new van and wanted to give it a run in. This site was perfect! Follow the directions on the website, clearly documented to make access easier! The staff were really friendly and the facilities were great!
