About Camping at Tipi Adventure

Camping at Tipi Adventure sits just outside Ross-on-Wye, offering a pleasingly simple base for exploring Herefordshire's rolling countryside. The 16 non-electric grass pitches keep things refreshingly low-key, while campfires are actively encouraged — a rare treat that lends warm evenings under the stars a proper outdoors feel. Families and dogs are welcome, and the essentials (showers, toilets, drinking water) are all covered, though you'll be offline here with no WiFi.

The site's standout 4.9 Google rating suggests campers appreciate its unpretentious, back-to-basics approach. It won't suit those after modern conveniences or electric hook-ups, but if you're after a straightforward, fire-lit pitch within easy reach of the Wye Valley, this ticks the boxes nicely.

This campsite is incredible! My sister in law booked the spot so we had no info beforehand and were so pleasantly surprised. The pitches are so far apart you don’t have to worry about being too loud for your neighbours so you can properly relax and enjoy the space. Toilets and showers were super clean so no complaints there. Wheelbarrows provided to help cart things to the camp which is soooo helpful. The spot is beautiful, so many birds in the trees and gorgeous light in the evenings. We will absolutely be back here again to explore more 😊

This is the best camp site we have been to in years. Its located just outside Ross on Wye. The camp is on a big field with wild flowers and ancient oak trees. It can be accessed by road or by canoe from the river Wye. The pitches and paths are mowed out of the meadow and each pitch is named. There are toilets and showers available on site. Each toilet is allocated to a pitch so you dont share with others. They are cleaned to a high standard everyday by the owner Sarah. She is very friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble and she is only a phone call away. Sarah emailed us a few days before arriving to make sure all of our party were allocated the same pitch. We stayed on Wye Salmon which was close to the river and plenty big enough for 3 large tents and a event shelter. Wooden picnic benches are also allocated to each pitch and you can hire a fire pit if you like. There is washing up facilities next to the showers and toilets, but you do have to bring your own drinking water as this is not available on site. This is posh wild camping with everything you need. The location is picturesque and beautiful. We will definitely be going back.

I went when they were not offering Tipi's so camping only and honestly, it's one of the best campsites I've been to. It's super unique with it being somewhat autonomous. I actually really like that and it's great that Sarah is on the phone to help out with any questions. The welcome pack is super useful, and I was really happy to see that both Ross on Wye and Goodrich have a really pleasant footbath leading to both that follows the river. I like how there's zones dedicated to each camp and each camp having their own toilet, of which were super clean including the showers which were also hot. The campsite is beautiful with some nice views of the castle, highly recommended! I'll be coming back for sure.

The most calm and relaxing camping trip I've been to in years. Here's what makes it so great. Sarah has spaced out the plots in such a way that you feel like you have a little oasis of calm and not disturbed by others, you have lots of space. The huge oak trees dotted around provide a beautiful backdrop to many of the sites. The river nearby is just a lovely space to relax and read a book, or go for a wade (or canoe from). The toilets are labeled per site - which makes a huge difference (i.e. you get a flushing toilet just for your site). We had the weather on our side, but it just felt so peaceful and warm being there, I really can't describe how nice it was, especially with the moon rising and stars above. My only gripe was the directions to the site are terrible. The actual What3Words is unloading.herbs.lower - this will take you to a side road which clearly signsposts the way to the campsite. Other than that, I loved this place :)
