Winchelsea sits on high ground above Romney Marsh, a medieval town that once guarded England's coast as one of the ancient Cinque Ports. The Lodge at Winchelsea is a self-contained two-bedroom property here, sleeping four people. It comes with a private parking space and its own entrance, so you have the freedom to come and go as you please. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included.
The ground floor has a living room with a Smart TV, a separate dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen where you can cook proper meals—there's an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a king-size bed, Smart TV and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom contains zip-and-link twin beds (which can be pushed together to form a super king-size). Both bedrooms have TVs, and there's a main bathroom with a bath and shower. The property is non-smoking.
From here you can explore the cobbled streets and historic wine cellars of Winchelsea itself, walk along the Royal Military Canal, or drive to nearby Rye for galleries and antique shops. Camber Sands is close enough for a day trip, and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve attracts birdwatchers. There's a shared seating area in the grounds.

Fantastic stay for 2 days in July, cannot fault the rooms the staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty to eat at breakfast and a lot of variety. Would recommend Winchelses Lodge.

Great place to stay the night , enough room to park ...the person at the front desk was very helpful to find a room as we came in very late ...we parked our motorbikes directly at the room but the morning after the annoyed owner told us that was not ok. The way he told us was a bit harsh he would kick us out if he kne.it earlier....but after our apologies he explained why ....it was in case of fire and the bikes were in the way could be an insurance problem in the end . **Tip** just put a no bike park sign in front the beautiful fountain and other entrance and do inform/educate the staff to explain the visitors before giving the key to the room. At the end we completely understand the situation ...

I booked a room through booking.com and they sent me confirmation email. I paid £118.80 for one night. But when i arrived at the property they tries to charge me extra £130 to change my place for “better” accommodation. The guys on the reception where politely trying their best but the manager was brutal rude to me and to my wife. He was desperate to sale the £250 room. We didn’t except that because we already booked the room so we complain to booking.com. They find us another place and promised to pay damages for us.

Brilliant. Free room upgrade when we arrived for a 4 night stay. Suite was very comfortable, slept well and it had a good shower and general decor - absolutely spotless. Food was top notch and was freshly made, even the pies. Very friendly atmosphere and people. Just what we needed for a short break in this overlooked part of England. In short, thankyou.
