What visitors say
A wonderful place to have a walk surrounded by a well kept and yet wild looking environment. We had a lovely evening stroll looking at and listening to nature - plus, the absolute bonus of seeing a woodpecker and watching it hammer looking for it's bedtime snack - the first time we'd seen a woodpecker pecking wood! I've seen a lot of comments about the cost of parking, but if you only visit once in a while, it's worth it. If you visit more often, consider RSPB membership which has the added benefit of free parking.

Great for walking, and a keen eye will spot a wide variety of birds. We saw woodpeckers, buzzards, peacocks alongside a wide number of smaller birds. If coming outside of summer months, the staff put feeders out for the birds at points so you can see plenty of birds congregate. Some of the trails are steeper than others but a good day out overall. Very welcoming staff and a good cafe too.

Wow what a stunning place. Plenty of parking but does get busy. Cafe and shop are lovely. Nice polite helpful staff. About a 10 ish min walk to the lodge where the lovely pond and gardens are. Definitely recommend and visit there. The walks around the reserve are stunning, brimming with wildlife and can only imagine the heathland in full bloom in months to come will be fantastic.

I normally try and give five stars if I can so why not this time, it is because of the carpark £7.50 is excusive even if it is for all day, it is free for members and you can walk from Sandy if you know the footpaths. Despite this it is a wonderful place for walking and watching wildlife. There is a cafe onsite, the latte, sausage roll and tiffin was really nice. I would recommend a visit to this place if you want a wander around in mixed terrain, it also has an interesting feature in the remains of a hill fort.
