What visitors say
Amazing! Good vibes and great food which you can enjoy in a peaceful garden by the river. An impressive community venue, bringing all sorts of great events and opportunities, connecting locals and visitors though great music, art, food & dancing. So surprised and delighted to find this in this rural area.

There was a traffic jam on the A9 due to an accident so we decided to head back to Helmsdale to have coffee rather than sitting in the car. We happened upon this museum and I'm truly glad we went in. The lady on reception was lovely and explained everything about the museum. She told us we could head straight into the museum or go for our coffee first which we did. The museum itself was excellent, lots of rich history about the area. We moved fast through it because there wasn't enough to keep the kids entertained but that was the only negative. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit and I'd definitely recommend popping in if you are nearby.

An excellently curated museum & art centre with a nice cafe attached, along with parking - doesn't seem to feature on many NC500 itineraries, which is a shame as it deserves support. Other amenities and interesting short walks can be taken from the village.

Great place and lovely people. The museum contains a lot of information about Helmsdale and the exhibition space is not huge but amazingly well done. A huge amount of care and attention has been put into this making this museum a very interesting and welcoming place.
