About Harebeck Holidays at Thornbank Farm
Tucked into the western Cumbrian countryside near Seascale, this working farm site keeps things refreshingly simple. Harebeck Holidays offers fully-serviced gravel pitches for campervans and motorhomes (including XL spaces), all with electric hook-up and WiFi to keep you connected. The facilities cover the basics—showers, toilets, drinking water—and dogs are welcome, making it a genuinely family-and-pet-friendly base.
Open year-round, it's particularly handy for exploring the quieter corners of the Lake District's western fringes, with Wastwater and the coastal villages within easy reach. The site can feel a touch utilitarian compared to plusher options, but many appreciate its no-nonsense approach and the warm welcome from the farming family who run it.

What visitors say
This place truly deserves all the custom it can get! Such a gorgeous little spot to stay. Catherine, the host, was absolutely lovely – she explained everything we needed to know and even shared the exact what3words location, which made finding it so easy. She was also really helpful in giving us directions to a local pub, which was a great touch. Her farm is stunning, with the most amazing views, and the facilities had everything you could possibly need. The toilets and showers were spotless and well looked after, which made the stay even more comfortable. There was also a small play area for children, which is such a thoughtful addition for families. I loved the little shed on site too, where she sold extras like marshmallows for the fire pit and homemade jam. And the cutest cats wandering around the farm just made it feel even more homely and welcoming. Thank you so much for letting us stay – it was perfect! x

Such a friendly, welcoming and lovely holiday park, it is very quiet and remote, we stayed for 1 week and saw families and couples pass through and there was never any disturbance, everyone was happy and kept to themselves and comfortable. The owners of the site were all so kind, always there whatever you needed, up for a chat and keeping the place clean and tidy. The communal shower and toilets were always clean and available to use at any time. The park is dog and family friendly too. Fantastic location with surrounding outdoor wonders such as scaffel pike, Stanley ghyll waterfalls and wast water circular walk as well as the beach! We would definitely return!

We loved our stay here. We had a pitch for our camper van and stayed for 2 nights. The toilet/shower facilities are very clean and well thought out, there were even fresh hand towels each day. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and it's in a great location for hiking.

Easy to get to, and away from the main road so it's nice and quiet. The cottage faces the fells and treats you to some lovely colourful views come sunset! Cathryn puts in a lot of effort to make sure her guests feel welcome and it really shows. Looking forward to visiting again!
