What visitors say
We stopped for dinner on the way to Whitehaven and was thoroughly impressed! The host was lovely and friendly. I had garlic prawns to start which came with warm, toasty ciabatta with lots of butter. I also had the homemade meatballs and linguine which was sweet, savory and had more meatballs than pasta! My partner has the meat feast pizza which you can see was loaded with proper Cumberland sausages and meat. With 2 drinks this only came to £45! I don't normally write reviews but this was too good not to share!

I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough, after a 5 hour journey from London we had a welcoming stay! We checked in quite late and messaged before hand it was very easy to self check in. The breakfast was phenomenal!! Our rooms were gorgeous and the service was lovely, the chef gave us some tips about exploring the area and thanks to his recommendation we are planning another trip and staying in this hotel again! it’s about 20mins drive to wast water lake and the waterfalls for the hiking are close to this hotel. What lovely staff and hospitality 😍

Went for an evening meal with the lads while on a walking holiday. Welcoming, warm and friendly as soon as we walked in. Log burners burning, staff friendly and attentive. Menu had a good selection and the food was amazing, just what we're needed after a day in fells.
