While the facilities are excellent, it is the incredible staff team that truly makes this place feel like a community. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are greeted with genuine warmth and big smiles: Welcoming Receptionists: The front-of-house team is incredibly patient and helpful, always happy to assist with bookings, memberships, or navigating the Everyone Active app. Encouraging Fitness Instructors: The gym staff and class instructors are absolutely top-tier. They bring massive energy to every single session, keeping you motivated and making sure everyone—from absolute beginners to seasoned gym-goers—feels confident and included. Attentive Lifeguards: The poolside team is exceptionally vigilant, friendly, and fantastic with children, keeping the atmosphere both incredibly safe and wonderfully welcoming.

Shaunie, Levi and all the staff at Hillsborough are lovely. They work hard, welcome all coming to the pool and are are very efficient and friendly. They show an interest in other team members and generally there is a very relaxing atmosphere.

Went here for the first time for the leisure pool today after signing up for a membership. The pool was clean (although slightly cooler than the one in concord although once you’re in it you don’t really notice) and the changing rooms had a few of the typical things to expect (hair dryer, showers, changing cubicles) . The staff Nikola and another lady (I didn’t catch their name) were also really helpful and polite when I had an issue regarding my membership and were able to quickly sort it as well as give me a tour of what the centre offered. Overall top notch service and I would go again.
