About Skeld Caravan Park and Campsite
Skeld Caravan Park and Campsite sits right on the water on Shetland's West Mainland, built around a working marina and pier that give it an unusually nautical character. Run by a local charitable trust, it's a well-maintained four-star touring park with fifteen tent pitches on grass and nineteen electric hook-up spaces for caravans and motorhomes—some on hardstanding just ten metres from the water with marina views. The amenity block is notably good for a site this size, with showers, toilets, a kitchen with microwave and hob, laundry facilities and free wifi, while outside you'll find picnic tables, a play area and a wildlife hide for spotting seals and otters in the inlet.
The location puts you within easy reach of West Mainland beaches at Reawick and Sandness, the Foula ferry, and the dramatic coastline at Eshaness, yet it's still under half an hour from Lerwick. The marina draws visiting yachts alongside local fishing boats, and the trust reinvests all profits into the site and wider Skeld community, which shows in the upkeep. Dogs are welcome throughout.

I was using campsite here on my bikepacking trip in shetland. Clean toilets. Coin operated showers. There is small well equipped kitchen with fridge, kettle, microwave etc. Nice camping area with lovely little harbour, small beach near by and Bird watching hide in a wooden hut.

A very organised community run facility by a small volunteer team, which offers all the facilities you need. We appreciated the use of the washing machine and dryer and the ability to use their waste disposal service. £27 per night is good value especially when you get to meet lovely caring locals who are genuinely looking to chat. Oh, and as a bonus, there is a honesty box, which is like a Cake Fridge but bigger and better, as there is bread, eggs and meat..perfect way to stock up on some essential items, so you don't need to go into town to get them! Thank you from two very happy Outback Australians

Lovely and tidy campsite. Remember to bring a few £1 coins so you can use the shower. The kitchen area is quite small (a bit of a squeeze when it's raining) and the toilets lead right off them which can make it feel not too private - however, there are some public loos opposite. We had a good stay and loved the provision of a picnic bench at our pitch. The views were stunning.

A clean, tranquil site situated in the harbour of Skeld run by volunteers who are a credit to the site as the site is to the Shetlands! Thank you all for a wonderful stay.
