Pretty dated & could do with a freshen up. Clean, tidy, good sized rooms but the mahogany wood & burgundy colour scheme is a bit late 80s/early 90s.... Good food. Friendly, efficient & knowledgeable staff

To be clear, the following comments only apply to restaurant. Dining room pleasant enough with good sea views. Staff polite. Waiter was like something from fawlty towers. When someone eventually attended to us, after 20mins, it was clear he had very little clue about menu items and minimal knowledge of allergens, the latter being unacceptable in a modern restaurant. Every straightforward question required a visit to the kitchen and we had to repeat our order’s numerous times. When starters eventually started appearing, 50 mins after sitting down, they came in dribs and drabs. They were very ordinary, unimaginative and poorly executed. They were also poor value for money. 4 small prawns on two tablespoons of rice, with a spoon of irrelevant sauce smeared over plate, is not an £8.50 starter. The mains ranged from poor to average pub food. The chef apparently can’t cook duck or chicken breast properly, so best avoided. They were dry and overdone. Not once after starters arrived did anyone check if everything was ok or if we wanted more drinks. We had a 12 year old coeliac with us. Her only choice of starter? Fruit salad. I can’t think of many 12 year olds who are excited to eat fruit salad. In summary, if you are a competent cook, you will be able to prepare better food at home for a fraction of price

Very good experience. Stayed 3 nights for work commitments. Right from the outset was treated very well. I arrived earlier that my check in, my room wasn't ready but in the matter of minutes the lovely lady on reception had sorted something out and a manager showed me to my room. Evening meals and breakfast were very good, always hot and great value. 5 stars the the waitress/bar girl Valarie, made me feel very welcome and super polite. To be honest the customer service and engagement is 1st class in the hotel.
