Canal View

Canal View is a single-storey barn conversion positioned directly on the banks of the Shropshire Union Canal in rural Shropshire. The whole property is yours alone, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms spread across ground-floor living space. One bedroom has a zip-and-link super king bed, the other a standard king; the ensuite shower room and main bathroom with bath and shower mean you won't queue for facilities. Everything is included to actually cook and stay: the kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, while heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all covered. Initial logs for the woodburner are provided too.

The enclosed patio overlooks the water, furnished and equipped with a gas barbecue. There's parking for four cars on site and a bike store if you're exploring by two wheels. The hamlet of Tetchill is quiet but not isolated; a shop, pub and restaurant are two miles away. Oswestry market town lies nearby, while Ellesmere (known locally as Shropshire's Lakeland) offers boating on the meres. The Welsh border is close enough for day trips to Llangollen or Whittington Castle. National Trust properties including Chirk Castle and Erddig Hall are within reach, and Chester—with its racecourse and Georgian streets—is roughly 40 minutes by car. The fenced canal edge is about 10 yards from the property, and the house is not available to smokers.
