About Birch Hill Farm Certificated Location

Tucked into peaceful Shropshire countryside near Ellesmere, Birch Hill Farm is a back-to-basics certificated site that welcomes five outfits at a time. Electric hook-up and WiFi keep you connected, and there's drinking water and a disposal point on hand, though you'll need your own facilities – there are no showers or toilets on site. Dogs are welcome to roam, and the location stays open year-round for hardy campers who don't mind a simpler setup.

It's an honest, no-frills choice for self-sufficient tourers exploring the Shropshire meres and mosses, though those expecting full amenities will want to look elsewhere. If you value quiet pitches and rural seclusion over creature comforts, this straightforward farm site makes a practical base.

We had a great stay in a glamping pod here. The location is very pretty, lots of rolling fields towards Cheshire and views of the Welsh hills. It's a very relaxing place. The pod itself was compact,as expected. But it was very well planned out. We had everything we needed ,including an ensuite and underfloor heating . We saw Ian ,the owner, who was very friendly and helpful. Ellesmere and its surrounding area is a great place to explore. We enjoyed Archers Meadow very much.

Fabulous location, great hosts. Ian greeted us on arrival and gave us all the information we could need about the site and the local area. The site is very quiet and peaceful, an easy 25 mins or so walk in to Ellesmere which is a lovely town with some great local businesses. A walk around the mere and aling the canal.near the marina is well worthwhile. We will definitely be back.

We booked two nights at Birch Hill as the site was near to Ellesmere, and was on our route back from a stay in the Cotswolds. The booking process was very easy, and we were supplied with a very informative email from owners, Ian and Janet, detailing the directions, check in procedure, facilities and information about their CL website. There was also plenty of information about the local area. The directions to the site were excellent, and there was plenty of signage on the roadside indicating where they are located, in fact they are the best we have seen. The driveway was easily navigated with our 'van, and although single track, there is great visibility and the entrance road had beautifully manicured grass shoulders and hedges. Being warmly welcomed by Ian at check in, we were given a comprehensive explanation of the site facilities, and local area. He is passionate about being environmentally responsible, and pointed out the different recycling bins and insists on green toilet chemicals, which he has available for purchase. Our pitch was on hardstanding with an electric point, with plenty of room for our 'van. Ian provided a local information pack which we used and have kept for future visits which gave us an in depth view of the local area, and was very useful. He also gave us his personal recommendations for restaurants in Ellesmere which we gladly used. The site is situated in a very picturesque area of Shropshire, in between fields with sheep and cattle, overlooking several counties. A quiet and peaceful heaven! I recommend Birch Hill and will be hoping to book a longer stay in the near future.

We stayed here for our second weekend away in our new motorhome. Ian and Janet were very welcoming and the site is very peacefull. Ian did a great job of giving us info on the area. It's only a 5 van site but has room for more so it makes it seem very spacious. There are great views and the pitches are nice and level. My only suggestion to improve would be to add a toilet and shower block but this would be a luxury addition. Will go back when we have toured a little more.
