Lower Dinchope Big Barn

Lower Dinchope Big Barn is a detached conversion that can sleep 15 across seven bedrooms—rare enough to find holiday accommodation that actually fits a large group without anyone bunking down awkwardly. Two of the bedrooms have their own bathrooms; there are four bathrooms in total, so mornings don't become a logistical nightmare. The layout works because it's genuinely split into two sections, each with its own staircase, which means different age groups or branches of a family can have some separation without isolation. A second living room without a television gives flexible space for quieter moments.
The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking from scratch across multiple days: two electric cookers, dishwasher, ample fridges. Bed linen is provided; heating is central and included. The woodburner in the main living room has its initial fuel supplied, and there's a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer for longer stays. Outside, a lawned garden opens onto patios with barbecue space, with meadows and woodland visible beyond the immediate boundary.
Craven Arms is two miles away, a market town on the Shropshire-Herefordshire border with pubs and shops. From here, Stokesay Castle and walking country around Wenlock Edge and Long Mynd are within easy reach; Ironbridge Gorge museums and Shrewsbury are a short drive. The barn does not permit smoking indoors.

Stayed here for four nights with a group of 10 and had a really enjoyable stay. The barn is beautifully decorated and most of the bedrooms were a good size. The mattress in my room was really comfortable, although I can't comment on the others. The layout worked really well for a larger group. Having a downstairs toilet was really handy, and the large dining area made it easy for everyone to eat together. There were also two fridges and a large freezer, so there was more than enough space to store food and drinks. The garden is a great size, and there's a BBQ out the back too – I only wish we'd known about it before we arrived as we'd definitely have made use of it. Overall, it was a great place to stay and I'd happily book it again.

Had a lovely weekend here. Big place, good location, lovely views, comfortable and plenty of space for a group of 14. Great for family get together. A bit dated in places, but this is reflected in the price. Would stay again

For the money, this was a very reasonable place to stay. There were a lot of chairs. So many, infact , that we voted for our favourite. (The cuck chair in the upstairs double bedroom won)

Stayed here with a large group of friends for a board gaming weekend. It was perfect for the purpose with a kitchen table and a room with two further large dining tables. Plenty of space and lots of room configurations to suit couples and singletons. Lovely location, tucked away up a lane, but close enough to the local shops to pop out if needed. Ludlow nearby for a day trip out too. Plenty of parking and the garden would have been great for bbq and family games in summer. Despite very cold weather the cottage was well heated throughout. In need of some TLC in places with carpets and bedding looking well worn and with almost nothing matching eg bedding, crockery etc. Some of the mattresses need upgrading, I have back issues and struggled to find a bed that worked for me. However it was excellent value for money. We took our own towels.
