You enter Meadow Barn into a ground-floor living and dining space with a woodburner, immediately feeling the weight of the 1750s stone walls around you. The kitchen is fitted out for proper cooking—electric oven, dishwasher, air fryer, washing machine—rather than holiday-let basics. A shower room completes this level. Upstairs, a galleried bedroom holds a kingsize bed. The whole place is yours alone; it sleeps two and allows one pet.
Outside, an enclosed garden wraps around the barn with a patio, seating areas, a bistro set, steamer loungers and a BBQ. There is space for two cars on the private parking area, and a bike store if you want to explore on two wheels. Meadows run away from the property toward views across the Shropshire Hills, and the location sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Pennerley hamlet, between the Stiperstones Nature Reserve and the Welsh borders. A shop and pub are roughly a mile and a half away. Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Bishop's Castle and Clun are all within reach for a day out. Central heating (underfloor on the ground floor, electric heaters upstairs), Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included; an initial load of wood for the burner comes with the booking.

You know you’ve got the best wedding venue in the world when your host enthusiastically agrees to you creating a spontaneous Sunday slip and slide! From the first day we viewed Upper Meadow Barn we knew we’d found the perfect venue. The views were INCREDIBLE, the barn was beautiful, and most importantly it was a place that we could create the exact wedding that we wanted without having to conform to lots of traditional rules and expectations. What we didn’t know then is how far it would exceed all of our wildest expectations, that it would be the home of our absolute dream wedding weekend, and that we’d leave feeling like we’d made lovely new friends. It’s been over a month and I’m still feeling emotional about it all! Mary, Steph, Brian, and their family were the best hosts we could have asked for. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were more than happy for us to run free with our ideas, enabling us to basically build a festival at the barn. Their communication was excellent throughout the whole process, with questions always answered and requests to visit the venue again not a problem at all. It was our preference to mostly be left to our own devices to build and run the wedding, which they fully respected but were on hand in a flash whenever we needed anything, and after all their generosity it was a pleasure to have them join us for our celebrations alongside our family and friends. Honestly I could chat for HOURS about all the reasons why you should book Upper Meadow for your wedding, it's really hard to fit it all into a concise review and I wish I could give then more than 5 stars. I'd give them 100 stars! From the bottom of our hearts, and the hearts of all our guests, thank you for being the best venue and hosts we could have wished for, and giving us all the most wonderful memories. I hope this won’t be the last time we come to Upper Meadow Barn for a party! ❤️
