The Maddocks

Shropshire

View on Google Maps

Whitchurch sits on the Shropshire-Cheshire border, a market town surrounded by countryside with good access to the Llangollen branch of the Shropshire Union Canal and the Cheshire Cycleway. The Maddocks is an oak-beamed barn conversion on the edge of the town—quiet enough to feel like a proper retreat, close enough that the centre and railway station are walkable.

You get three bedrooms and two bathrooms across one private property sleeping six: a super king, a double and two singles, plus an ensuite and family bathroom. The ground floor has an open-plan living and dining space with a woodburner, a kitchen with electric cooking and dishwasher, and a utility room. The enclosed garden has a six-person hot tub, patio and furniture. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are included, along with initial logs for the fire. Two cars can park on the property.

The town itself has pubs, restaurants and independent shops; the surrounding area is good for walking or cycling. Blakemere Fishery is nearby. After a day out, you have a proper base to return to. No smoking throughout the property.
