The Old Milking Parlour

Shropshire

View on Google Maps

The Old Milking Parlour is a converted barn near Oswestry in Shropshire, finished to a high standard and retaining original features like exposed beams and stone walls. It sleeps two in a kingsize bedroom with an ensuite shower room and heated towel rail. Downstairs is an open-plan space combining living, dining and kitchen areas, where an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine mean you can cook and manage laundry as you would at home. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating are all included; there is also a welcome pack on arrival.

Outside, a front garden has seating and furniture for sitting out. You get private parking for one car and a bike store. The location suits walkers and cyclists particularly well—the Shropshire Way, Jack Mytton Way and Offa's Dyke are all within reach, threading through Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Wentnor village, with two pubs and a shop, is a short distance away. Ludlow and Church Stretton are also accessible for a day out. No smoking is permitted.

I would have given 5 stars, but we had a few issues. The wi-fi was non existent, l was finally able to quickly down load a book at 1am. The chair which looked very nice in the pictures was so uncomfortable you couldn't sit on it for more than 5mins. Perhaps a new seat cushion would be a good idea. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.
