Upper Stanbatch Cottage
Shropshire

Upper Stanbatch Cottage is a 19th-century stone building occupying a remote position on the slopes of the Long Mynd, reached by a steep track through working farmland. The cottage sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and adjoins National Trust land, with open countryside and walking routes available immediately from the garden. A spring feeds the property's water supply, and a small stream runs through the grounds.
Three bedrooms sleep four: two singles on the ground floor, two more singles upstairs, and a single bedroom used for flexible sleeping. The first floor contains a bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs offers a living room with woodburner, dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. A utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. Electricity, bed linen, towels and logs are provided. One dog is welcome, though the working farm setting means it should remain on lead. Parking is on adjacent land, and the cottage is entirely yours.
The Shropshire Way footpath lies half a mile away, and the Long Mynd summit is walkable in 30 minutes. Birdwatching is strong from the garden itself. Ludlow, Church Stretton and Shrewsbury are within reach for supplies or exploration. A shop and pub are two miles distant. The building has narrow stairs and steep sections inside.
