About Holiday Inn Express London Heathrow T5
With 300 rooms across five floors, Holiday Inn Express London Heathrow T5 is a sizeable base on London Road in Slough, built for travellers passing through rather than lingering guests. The name points to Heathrow Terminal 5, and transport links to the airport are good, though it's worth knowing the hotel itself is some distance away in Slough rather than right on the airport doorstep.
Rooms are air-conditioned and en-suite, with family and accessible options available, plus drinks in room for a straightforward overnight stop. Breakfast is included and covers vegetarian options alongside the usual buffet spread, while the on-site restaurant, bar and snack bar cover other meals, with packed lunches and kids' meals also available. A gym, business services and meeting rooms suit both work trips and early flights, and staff are consistently described as helpful.
Practical extras include laundry service, luggage storage and on-site parking, though parking comes at an extra charge. Beyond the hotel, there's a golf course, fishing and watersports nearby, along with pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area for those with time to explore before or after their flight.
What guests say
Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Exceptionally so, I should say. It makes for a great trip. Location - whether it's good or not depends on the purpose of your visit. If it's for getting to the airport, it is close. For getting into London for sightseeing, it's not great as you have to take a taxi to the airport which isn't cheap and then take a tube from there. Still, it is do-able. But the staff make up for that!! Thanks to them for a lovely stay.

The bathroom was spotless, which I really appreciated. If you enjoy the aroma of Indian spices and curry, you'll likely feel right at home, as the scent from the hotel's restaurant is noticeable throughout the ground and first floors. The included breakfast is quite basic, with very limited variety, and there were no gluten-free options available. Also, we only realized later that the hotel does not offer an airport shuttle. Keep in mind that taxi/uber fares to and from the Terminal 5 can add up to around £70 or more for a round trip.

This hotel has bedbugs. My mom and I were staying here for two nights because it was efficient for the airport. We ate dinner the first night at one of the restaurants and the wait staff was amazing. If only this applied to the rest of the hotel staff. Around 11:30 our first night I found a bed bug in my bed. The hotel staff switched our room but never apologized or anything. We asked them to launder our clothes and spray down our stuff so we wouldn't contaminated the flight we were on but they told us to wait until the exterminator came to confirm that it was bed bugs (understandably). After saying that the exterminator would be there at 10:30 we left assuming everything would be alright. However, the manager ghosted my mom and the staff kept putting off when the exterminator was arriving finally telling us they were coming the day we were flying out. Thus, nothing was ever done to decontaminate our clothing. I understand the hotel can not control whether there are bed bugs, however the care for their customers after finding the bed bug was abysmal. If you want a quick hotel near the airport and don't care about the safety of the rooms, this hotel is for you. Otherwise avoid it at all costs.

We stayed here for a night when visiting Harry Potter studios. The hotel was a package with studio tickets but is pretty far away. This is the only hotels that has shampoo, but no lotion at all for you to use. Also, decafe coffee and tea in the rooms but no reg coffee. The restaurant that’s attached has decent food, but got our order completely wrong. The double bed is a bit small for two but at least it’s comfy. The shuttle to the airport is convenient

Some reviews mention the location can be misleading.
