Crealy Adventure Park near Exeter suits families with younger children, while Dunster Castle, Montacute House and the Fleet Air Arm Museum all merit a day trip. The Blackdown Hills themselves offer walking routes through countryside and wildlife habitats, and there are village pubs within a mile or two for evening meals.

Cleeve Cottages - Old South Cleeve is a ground-floor bungalow sleeping four: two bedrooms (one double, one with twin singles), a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a combined living and dining space with a kitchen that has everything needed for self-catering. A cot and highchair are available. An enclosed lawned garden with patio and summerhouse provides outdoor space, and there is parking for two cars. One well-behaved pet stays free of charge.
