Dragonfly Barn - Dragonfly 3

Photo: Dragonfly Barn

The Bridgwater-Taunton Canal runs past North Newton, making it an easy base for walking or cycling along the water. Maunsel Lock, a few minutes away, has a tea room and boat trips; the Space Walk follows the towpath through wetland habitat rich with wildlife. The Quantock Hills—Somerset's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—rise nearby, as do Exmoor National Park and the Blackdown Hills, all within reach for a day out. A pub serving food stands 200 yards off.

Dragonfly 3 is a detached barn conversion with one double bedroom and an ensuite shower room. A living and dining area has a Freeview television and DVD player. The kitchen is fitted with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine, so you can cook or do laundry. An enclosed courtyard garden with patio furniture opens off the bedroom. Two steps lead to the entrance. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included, and an electric car charging point is on site. Private parking for one car is provided; additional spaces are available on the road. No smoking, please. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

The barn was clean, cosy and very well equipped. The owners were friendly and helpful. The canal was just five minutes away for peaceful walks with the dog. Plenty of National Trust properties to visit. A lovely find.

Absolutely superb accommodation, dog friendly, very clean, tidy, and well equipped, full cooker, tv, wifi, washing machine, lovely and cosy, and a really comfy bed! Owners very friendly and helpful, canal close by, cafe within walking distance, and the village bar/restaurant does fantastic food (bar dog friendly). Easy access to loads of places to visit, including Dunster Castle, Glastonbury Abbey and West Somerset Railway. Would highly recommend Dragonfly holiday barns. First Class.
