Stone Barn

Photo: Stone Barn

Stone Barn is a converted barn near Minehead, sleeping six across three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The property comes ready for a proper stay: wi-fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all sorted, and there's a welcome pack on arrival. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge. You get the whole place to yourself, with private parking for one car and additional space on the road nearby.

Downstairs holds a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, plus the main bedroom with a zip-and-link super king (or two singles on request) and ensuite shower. Upstairs opens into a generous living and dining space with a 55-inch TV, Netflix, electric fire and distant views towards Exmoor. The kitchen has two electric ovens, an induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and all the basics for cooking. A second bedroom with king bed and ensuite bath is also on this floor, as is a third double bedroom with shower room. Travel cot and highchair are available if you need them.

Outside, an enclosed garden with patio furniture and a private hot tub (open until 10pm) provide space to unwind. The Cemetery area of Minehead puts you close to The Old Sweet Shop, and well-placed for exploring the Exmoor and North Devon coast. No smoking indoors, and barbecues aren't permitted due to neighbouring properties.

Where do you begin? Such a lovely place, the area is peaceful and the Barn is to die for! You begin by fighting over who gets which bedroom; they’re beautifully decorated, and each one has a charm of its own. The Barn was immaculately clean throughout, one of the best places we’ve ever been to. You must have a fantastic team! Now back to the bedrooms, I’ve made a note of the make of the pillows as they’re so comfy, and I love the Faith in Nature products (I use them at home). So wonderful to have them provided. Upstairs, and you have the ‘wow’ factor as soon as you walk in! A visit to the church at the top of the hill is a must, and yet again, the views are fantastic from the steps. You should also go to Toucan Foods – excellent cafe! We’re bound to come back Lucy! Thank you again for a brilliant holiday!”

We had the most wonderful stay at Stone Barn earlier this month. The cottage was absolutely beautiful - spotlessly clean with such a warm & inviting atmosphere. My partner and I had a fab time and our little dog settled in straight away too. We enjoyed plenty of lovely walks and had a great meal at The Old Ship Aground in Minehead. The hot tub was a real treat as well - we enjoyed an evening dip with a glass of fizz. Thank you so much Lucy, we had a great time and can’t wait to come back!

“It was my husband’s 60th so wanted things to be special. We opened the door and everyone said ‘Wow!’” Radar the dog went straight to the dog bed and made himself at home. Stone Barn is beautiful and it is obvious how much love and care into creating it. Even though it is November, we managed to fit in two five-mile walks without getting drenched so I deserved another soak in the hot tub. The location is ideal because you are amongst pretty, characterful cottages but just a 10-minute walk from the town. Gail was incredibly warm and welcoming. She gave advice which was very helpful – and the dogs loved her too. Thank you for a fantastic setting for our family celebrations.”
