Tacker Street Cottage
Somerset
Tacker Street Cottage is a semi-detached stone building tucked into a wooded valley on the fringe of Exmoor National Park. Access runs across a small wooden bridge spanning a stream in the neighbouring grounds—a charming approach that sets the tone for a stay somewhere genuinely secluded. The cottage has real character: downstairs, a living room with an open fireplace and a kitchen/dining space warmed by a woodburner, along with a bathroom. Three bedrooms upstairs sleep six—one double and two pairs of single beds—making it practical for families or groups. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included; logs for the fires are available locally.
The village is just beyond the garden gate, where a pub stands within walking distance and a shop even closer. From here, Exmoor's moorland, native ponies and red deer are on the doorstep, while the coast lies within reach—Minehead, Watchet Harbour and Blue Anchor beach all nearby. Dunster Castle and the West Somerset Steam Railway offer days out without straying far. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The garden has furniture and a barbecue for outdoor meals, and parking for two or three cars sits close by. No smoking inside.
