The Moat House

Rural Somerset offers quiet farmland and small hamlets away from busier towns, and The Moat House sits within that landscape as a thatched cottage that's been updated while keeping its character intact. Thatch and beams remain; the renovation in 2022 added modern heating, appliances and creature comforts throughout.

The ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen, utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, a dining room with original oak panelling, a sitting room with an electric fire, and a shower room. Upstairs are three bedrooms—two with king beds and one with two singles—plus a bathroom with a bath and shower over. The cottage sleeps six and is yours alone; essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included.

The real draw is outside. A garden with countryside views opens to a barn area at the rear, where a six-person hot tub sits ready for use. There's also a games room in that space. Parking fits four cars. The property draws water from a natural spring supply. No smoking indoors.
