The Old Manor

The Old Manor is a Grade II* listed house dating to around 1400, when it housed the Constable of Dunster Castle. Walking distance from the coast and Dunster itself, it works for large family gatherings or groups needing proper space. The place retains period features—a great hall with open fireplace, a chapel, sloping ceilings in some rooms—alongside the practical necessities of modern stays.

Sleeping arrangements span two floors: six bedrooms with six bathrooms means no queuing. Ground floor has two super kingsize doubles opening onto garden and courtyard respectively, plus a sitting room with woodburner, dining room, and a kitchen fitted with electric cooker, Aga, dishwasher and separate utility room. Upstairs holds four more bedrooms—three with ensuite bathrooms, one with a flexible single bed—and a second living area. The enclosed gardens include an orchard with apple, pear and plum trees, patio, barbecue and sauna with shower. Parking for six cars on site. Bed linen, towels, WiFi and heating are included; initial logs for fires are provided. One well-behaved pet stays at no extra cost. No smoking throughout.
