Braemar

Lendalfoot sits close enough to the Ayrshire coast that you can walk to the beach and rocks within minutes. Girvan, 6 miles south, has a working harbour, pubs and restaurants. The landscape around here changes with the tide: at low water, you can pick your way across rocks to spot seals. Inland, the countryside rolls toward Dumfries and Galloway, and the hills above the hamlet rise steep enough to be worth climbing for the views back toward Ailsa Craig.

Braemar is a detached bungalow arranged on a single floor. You get a bedroom with two single beds (each 3ft wide), a shower room, a living room with a multi-fuel burner and TV, and a kitchen with an electric range. A freezer and washing machine occupy the utility room. Bed linen and towels are provided, and the essentials—electricity included—mean you can settle in without needing to think about basics. Outside is a lawned garden with a patio and parking for two cars. The property is non-smoking. Children under 10 cannot be accommodated; one dog travels free.
