Fiddlers Rest
South Ayrshire
Fiddlers Rest is a ground-floor apartment in Ballantrae, a village on South Ayrshire's coast. The 100-mile Ayrshire Coastal Path runs past the door, offering walking with views across to Arran and the Firth of Clyde. The beach and harbour are yards away. Red squirrels, deer, otters and seals are common along this stretch; birdwatchers find it particularly rewarding, and boat trips from nearby Girvan head out to Ailsa Craig for seabirds. A local shop sits within easy reach.
The property has two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles) and one shower room, sleeping four. The living space includes a freeview smart TV, and the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking. A back garden with sitting-out area and BBQ works for summer evenings. Parking for two cars is on site. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking indoors.
Girvan's leisure centre and restaurants are 15 minutes' drive north. Ayr, Troon and Prestwick each offer more substantial days out. Ferries from the coast reach Cumbrae, Bute and Arran; Glasgow and Edinburgh are accessible for longer excursions. South brings Stranraer, Portpatrick's harbour village and the Mull of Galloway at Scotland's southern tip. One well-behaved pet stays free.
