Ballantrae sits on one of Scotland's great walking routes, the Ayrshire Coastal Path, where 100 miles of coastline stretches beneath mountains that frame the Firth of Clyde. The village itself clusters around the ruins of Ardstinchar Castle. Red squirrels, deer, otters and seals move through the landscape; birdwatchers find serious rewards here. From the cottage you can reach the beach in minutes on foot, and the surrounding country holds castles, gardens, horse riding and golf courses. Culzean Castle—a National Trust property set within 550 acres of woodland and parkland trails—lies within reach. The islands of Arran and Cumbrae are close enough for day visits.
Ingleside is a detached four-bedroom house sleeping up to seven. Downstairs: a living room with smart TV and electric fire, dining room, and kitchen equipped for proper cooking (electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher). A utility room has a separate fridge-freezer and washing machine. Upstairs: a second living room with a 32-inch TV and DVD player, plus three more bedrooms. There are two bathrooms—a wet room with shower on the ground floor and a shower room above. Outside, a large enclosed lawn has a sitting area with furniture, and parking for four cars sits on the property. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. One well-behaved pet stays free. The cottage is non-smoking.
