Lavender Lodge
South Derbyshire
Mercia Marina's conservation park wraps around Lavender Lodge, a ground-floor property on a tree-lined corner plot that catches sun throughout the day. The gated community sits beside woodland with walking paths and picnic areas, while the lodge itself opens onto grounds with a patio, children's play area and space to gather. Wildlife visits regularly—rabbits and squirrels among the trees—and the setting encourages you to use what's provided: a four-person picnic rucksack with blankets, a wicker hamper, picnic chairs and access to communal brick barbecues scattered through the park.
Three bedrooms sleep six: a double with ensuite shower on the ground floor, a second double, and a twin, each with a television. A family bathroom with bath and shower serves the other two. The open-plan living and dining space flows onto a veranda; the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, and there's a utility room with washer-dryer. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and superfast broadband are covered. The property includes a PlayStation 5 with games, Netflix access, board games and children's books, plus travel cot and highchair if needed. Two cars can park on-site.
No smoking indoors. The lodge works well for families wanting space to spread out, or two households sharing—the conservation park setting means children have room to play safely while adults enjoy the quieter corners of the grounds.
