Dartmouth's riverside setting means most of the town sits on a slope, and Oystercatcher occupies a second-floor position that makes the most of it. From the balcony and sun deck, you look out over the water toward Bayard's Cove Fort and beyond to the sea. The apartment itself is on one level, with a living room opening onto the balcony, a kitchen and dining area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. One bedroom has a double bed, the other two singles. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with Wi-Fi and a parking permit for one car.

The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking—oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave and full-size fridge-freezer—so self-catering is straightforward. The living room has a TV, DVD player and gas fire. The bathroom offers a bath with shower over it. The split-level garden has steps down to a sitting area, and both outdoor spaces have furniture for taking in the views.

Dartmouth's shops, restaurants and waterfront are a few minutes' walk downhill. The property is non-smoking. Note that the terrace and garden have steps and a level change between them.
