Meadowbrook Farm - Byre Cottage
South Oxfordshire
View on Google MapsMeadowbrook Farm's Byre Cottage is a one-bedroom conversion of a historic barn, dating to when the farm's owners transformed their outbuildings into holiday lets over two decades ago. The single open-plan living space retains original beams and features a wood-effect electric burner, while the king-size bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom holding both a bath and separate shower. Ground-floor access means everything is on one level; the kitchen has the essentials for self-catering, and there's a utility room with shared laundry facilities and a dishwasher.
The cottage sits within 500 acres of working farmland near Thame, with an enclosed garden offering a private sitting area. Guests can explore the farm's grounds on foot, watch the resident Hereford cattle and horses, or spend time by the farm's ponds. One dog stays free. Parking for two cars is on site. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided; heating is via oil central system. Non-smokers only.
Thame itself is a market town with weekly markets and restaurants within reach. The Oxfordshire Golf Course, Phoenix Trail cycling route and Waddesdon Manor are accessible by car, as are Oxford and Blenheim Palace for longer days out.
