About Holiday Inn Express Southampton West
Adanac Park sits on the western edge of Southampton, a business-park setting that suits drivers well thanks to the free on-site parking at Holiday Inn Express Southampton West. The hotel offers easy reach of the city's transport links and attractions without the fuss of a central location.
The 105 rooms are simple and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, family and accessible options, and drinks available in room. Breakfast is a highlight, complete with a pancake machine that guests enjoy, though the wider food offering at the restaurant and bar can be inconsistent. A snack bar, lift access, and meeting rooms round out the practical facilities, and pets are welcome throughout.
Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, making check-in and everyday queries straightforward. For those wanting to venture further, a pub and additional restaurants sit nearby, and the hotel's position near Southampton's transport links makes it a workable base for exploring the wider area.
What guests say
The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room was also very spacious and was equipped with good facilities including an iron, hairdryer, luggage rack and kettle. The bathroom was also very good - it had a large cubicle shower which was easy to operate and had good water pressure. The breakfast was good value for money but I have had better breakfasts at other Holiday Inn Express locations. There was not much fruit on offer - only small apples and some fruit compote. The coffee in the room was the standard Nescafe sachets, but the coffee tasted really strange on this occasion and we had to pour it away. Josh checked us in at reception upon arrival. He was welcoming, friendly and helpful and contributed to our positive experience. The staff at breakfast were also very friendly and attentive, keeping the food stocked up well and clearing tables efficiently and promptly.

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The reception staff were not welcoming or helpful, and the overall customer service was poor. The breakfast was extremely limited with very few options, especially compared to other hotels in the same price range. The biggest issue was that the rooms do not have air conditioning, which made the stay very uncomfortable, particularly during warm weather. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay here again or recommend it to others.

The staff were friendly and helpful, provided extra pillows on request, and even let us know we'd left our car lights on. Housekeeping were also brilliant, giving us extra towels and room supplies on the second day so we wouldn't be disturbed. Great service throughout – we'd definitely stay again!

I stayed at this hotel with my colleagues while we were waiting to join our vessel. As professional sailors, we often stay in hotels arranged by our company before deployment, and we always appreciate being treated with courtesy and respect. While the facilities and rooms were good, I was disappointed with the service from some of the reception and restaurant staff. During one meal, a staff member asked me which table I was sitting at. I didn't hear the question clearly and mistakenly gave my room number. Instead of politely clarifying, she pointed toward the tables and responded in a sarcastic tone, which made me feel embarrassed. Later that evening, when I ordered dinner costing around £34, another staff member asked me, "How much is your allowance?" I replied that my company would cover the meal as long as it did not include alcohol. I found the question unnecessary and unprofessional. My colleague also experienced poor service when his key card stopped working after our stay was extended. When he went to reception for assistance, the staff member responded in an annoyed and arrogant manner, saying that he should have known his key card would no longer work because of the extension. These interactions made us feel unwelcome. We noticed that some staff appeared much friendlier and more welcoming to other guests, while our experience was noticeably less pleasant. Whether intentional or not, it left us feeling that we were not treated with the same warmth and respect as others. We understand that everyone can have a difficult day, but professionalism and courtesy should be shown to every guest regardless of their background or nationality. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that every guest receives the same respectful service.
