About The Crown Hotel
The Crown occupies a Georgian building from 1740 on Southwold's High Street, a few minutes' walk from the Market Place and the Swan, and like its sister hotel is owned and run by the Adnams brewery. Its interiors lean into the building's age, with dark wood tables, a mix of old and new chairs and artwork that gives the place a lived-in, unfussy feel rather than a polished period-hotel look.
Fourteen bedrooms include a family suite, and the kitchen holds an AA Rosette for its seasonal menus, built around local produce and Adnams' own beers and spirits, served in a dining room that doubles as a popular spot with locals as well as guests.
Its High Street position means shops, cafes and the walk down to the seafront are all close at hand, and as with the Swan, Adnams guests can combine a stay here with brewery and distillery tours a short walk away.

Chaotic embassing evening for our group of friends , customer service was non existant we booked a table for 12 people paid a deposit of £55 3 people did not attend due to illness , we were then told that would have to pay for the 3x meals of the poeple that were not attending ( nothing mentioned about this before hand or when paying the depisit , no sign saying anything about this , we were served our food but had to ask for cutlery 2 of the meals had pineapple missing so £3 deducted for that The waiteess comes to the table as says quite bluntly whos paying the bill as she had worked it out and that the deposit was deducted off everyones meal at £5 each , we adked for a menu do that wach coyple could calculatecwhat they had had but the wsitress insisted that she had already worked it out and that we eould all have to pay for our drinks seperately to the food billb This took the wditress over half an hour to work out This was an embassing and totalky unproffesional evening we didnt even get a thankyou for being there we werejust told to take any problems up with the company None of us will ever be returning to crown

We booked this hotel to be close to knockhatch zoo , the staff were friendly and helpful, we asked for a quiet room and were given a nice room at the back . Matt the manager was Brilliant and helpful making our stay pleasurable. Would stay here again.

Its good value for the location. No problem with the rooms or service. Fussy people will find faults. Noise from street or from the pub but they all make for the character of the place

Always great food in nice environment (music is often a station called Magic Soul playing Motown and Soul classics...great choice), nice decor, good service. Rooms are not elaborate but decent accommodations for the price and location.
