What visitors say
Absolutely brilliant. We came up to watch Kynren and decided, rather than going straight home the next day, we would make a day of it, find something to do and have a Sunday lunch first. We looked at this place and thought there doesn't seem to be much there so we would go, spend half an hour there and then head off elsewhere. We were wrong! Yes to some people it may be just ruins but there was lots to read about them, you could walk through them. There were activities that the Romans took part in that you can have a go at. The talk on the site was very informative and to the scale of the site that hasn't yet been excavated is just unimaginable. We spent a good 2.5 hours there before we had to leave to get to our lunch booking. Although my eldest son would have stated all day just to do the Archery if he could. Tickets were very reasonably priced as well.

Wonderfully preserved hypocaust in the commander's bathhouse. First one I've seen with the original suspended floor intact. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers. The main bathhouse is also remarkably well preserved with the original coatings visible on the plunge pools.

Very interesting place to visit and all set out to give you an insight to how it was. Information boards tell you all you need to know plus QR codes which show a short film of the area reconstructed. Definitely worth a visit

We had the place to ourself and the bath- house was well presented and gave a good picture of how things were arranged. The staff member in the kiosk was very helpful and gave us a brief introduction. The small road to the site is quite rough towards the end but there was plenty of parking. It is quite a small site compared to others as much remains to be uncovered. There is a small reduction for English Heritage members.
